Tummy Soothing Tea!

img_8253It’s Monday! Monday morning is always a little rushed and frantic but today especially we were definitely on the crazy train because we had such an awesome, long weekend.

We cooked in a BBQ contest about an hour away from home, which meant packing up the camper, prepping food and trimming meats, and leaving the house for a night.  If you don’t know anything about competition BBQ, let me just tell you that is HIGHLY competitive with full-timers who have absolutely perfected their craft.  And living in Olive Branch, Mississippi, we are in a competition BBQ hub, with more teams per square mile than anywhere, except Kansas City (actually, who knows, but it sure seems like it!).  We turned in great boxes and scored well.  We are in the “building” phase this year with our team and are learning so much.  And we’ve brought home quite a few trophies this year, too!

When we came back on Saturday night, I threw two more pork butts on the grill to bring to a special church service Sunday morning.  It poured down rain ALL NIGHT but the pork came out GREAT and I think everyone enjoyed it.

On Sunday afternoon we got to take the kids to Disney on Ice – Frozen.  Since my girls especially are FROZEN CRAZY, they had an absolute blast.  It was exhausting but fun, and Robert and I treated ourselves to a dinner out with the kids at Texas de Brazil.  We don’t get to often but it’s so yummy, and incidentally an AWESOME choice if you’re Keto, Whole-30, or even vegetarian, because the salad bar is so awesome.  My favorite thing was the flank steak, though!

Coming off a busy weekend, it’s easy to start off a little sluggish – especially if you’ve been indulging a lot like I have.

Here’s a great recipe to support healthy digestion after candy-binging holiday or extra-fun weekend.  Drinking this tea always helps get my tummy back in shape after I have indulged in a lot of foods I don’t normally eat.  Drinking A LOT of water is very important part of flushing out your system, but this tea is relaxing and supports returning to a happy tummy.

  • Organic Green Tea
  • 1 drop Grapefruit Essential Oil
  • 1 drop Ginger Essential Oil
  • 2 drops stevia or 1/2 tsp honey

Directions:

Drop 1 teabag green tea, 1 drop of Grapefruit EO, 1 drop of Ginger EO, and Stevia or honey into a mug and pour hot water over it.  Let steep for 10 minutes and remove tea bag.  Sip slowly and relax!

Young Living’s Vitality line is specifically labeled for ingestion.  These oils are considered safe to ingest.  Read about why I use and trust Young Living HERE.

Both grapefruit and ginger are said to support healthy digestion and are two bottles of essential oils that stay in my kitchen.  They are both a great addition to any wellness cabinet!

Have a great Monday!
