After School Snack – Cheddar Cheese Spread

Do you remember your favorite snacks from childhood? I think most people do… my mom almost always had a homemade, healthy something-or-other for us. But we had our fair share of pre-packaged snacks, too. Remember when cheese balls came in a cannister? Gushers? Dunkaroos…. Toaster Strudel? (cue Mean Girls reference) And how about Handi-Snacks?

I think Handi-Snacks were one of my favorites. A perfect little package with yummy cheese spread, crackers, and a little red stick to spread it with. Then there were some with pretzel sticks.

It really is a perfect little after school snack…. so here’s a way you can recreate it with clean ingredients and your choice of crackers or pretzels, or even veggies to spread it on.

A short ingredient list and a food processor make this recipe super simple and quick. if you want to avoid vegetable/soybean oil that’s in most mayos, use Avocado oil mayo. We get it for the best price at Costco, and it’s the only mayo we use these days…

My kids love it with pretzel sticks to dip. We like Snyder’s Gluten Free pretzel sticks. You can find them HERE or HERE

Hope you enjoy this recipe!
